SANCTUARY IN THE ARTS: A LOOK AT ATLANTA ARTISTS’ RESPONSE TO THE GLOBAL REFUGEE CRISIS

The Alliance Theatre will host a community conversation about the current state of refugees in America and how it manifests in Atlanta. Atlanta area artists across multiple disciplines will come together with local social service organizations to use art created in response to refugee struggles and art by local refugees as a catalyst for conversation. The event will feature theater, music, dance, visual art, and a panel discussion that seeks to explore the reality of life for refugees and celebrate their resilience. Confirmed participants include the Breman Museum, the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, the Global Village, Glitter of Hope Foundation, Project South, the Coalition of Refugee Service Agencies, New American Pathways, World Relief, the Latin American Association, the Center for Pan Asian Community Service, the casts of Sheltered and Road to a Dream, and many individuals who will share their experiences as refugees or volunteers.
